KYIV - The International Olympic Committee's decision to disqualify Ukraine's skeleton racer Vladyslav Heraskevych over the use of a helmet depicting Ukrainian athletes killed in the war with Russia was "a moment of shame", Ukrainian Foreign Minister Andrii Sybiha said on Thursday.
"The IOC has banned not the Ukrainian athlete, but its own reputation.
Future generations will recall this as a moment of shame," Sybiha said in a post on X platform.
"He simply wanted to commemorate fellow athletes killed in war. There is nothing wrong with that under any rules or ethics."
