BASKETBALL – AL Najma won the sixth and final round of the inaugural Bahrain 3x3 Basketball League, held at the outdoor courts of Marassi Galleria.
Najma secured the title after defeating Bahrain Club 21-16 in an exciting final, which earned Najma their first victory in this season’s preliminary phase.
The stage is now set for the league’s grand final, in which eight clubs from the six meetings earned points to qualify.
The teams who punched their tickets, in order of their rankings on the preliminaries’ table, include Bahrain Club with 480 points, Manama with 345 points, Samaheej B with 324 points, Muharraq with 320 points, Najma with 310 points, Al Ahli with 295 points, Samaheej A with 258 points, and Isa Town with 223 points.
The grand final is scheduled for February 26.
The Bahrain 3x3 Basketball League is one of the most prominent initiatives launched by the Bahrain Basketball Association (BBA) in its current sports season. It aims to diversify local competitions in 3x3, in line with the game’s rapid rise internationally, and it is now set to become a part of the Olympic programme at the Los Angeles 2028 Games.
