Three men have been arrested for the alleged sale and trafficking of more than 100kg of marijuana and hashish, worth approximately BD1.5 million, the Interior Ministry said.
The General Directorate of Criminal Investigation and Forensic Science’s Anti-Narcotics Directorate arrested the men, whose ages and nationalities were not revealed, after they reportedly smuggled the substances from Iran.
According to reports by the directorate, they smuggled the drugs into the kingdom by using dead drops, which they also used to distribute the substances.
An investigation was launched following a report of the suspects activities.
Police have seized various currencies, materials used in smuggling and distribution operations, plus two boats.
Legal measures have been taken and the case has been referred to the Public Prosecution for a future trial.
