HANDBALL – AL Dair wrapped up their regular season campaign in the 2025-26 Khalid Bin Hamad Bahrain Handball League last night with a 34-28 victory against Samaheej.
The gameweek 22 contest was held at the Bahrain Handball Federation (BHF) Arena in Um Al Hassam Sports Complex.
Dair led 19-15 at the break and did well to extend their advantage in the closing 30 minutes, en route to securing their 11th win. They completed their league schedule with 42 points – narrowly missing out on a place in the Golden Square semi-finals.
Dair handed Samaheej their 17th loss as they ended their year in second-to-last with 26 points. In last night’s other match, Al Ettihad defeated Al Tadhamun 33-26.
Ettihad were up 20-14 after the opening half and never wavered the rest of the way.
They claimed their ninth win to go to 38 points while Tadhamun suffered their 11th loss as they finished right behind their opponents on the table with 36 markers.
This year’s regular season wraps up tonight with a titanic match-up between defending champions Al Najma and title hopefuls Al Ahli.
The contest is scheduled for a 7pm throw-off at the same venue. It will be a non-bearing affair, as both teams have already secured their spots in the Golden Square, with Najma as number one seeds and Ahli as number three.
Meanwhile, the BHF announced last night that fans will be permitted back to watch matches in person from today.
