BAHRAIN’S Ambassador to the US Shaikh Abdulla bin Rashid Al Khalifa addressed the 2026 Harvard Arab Conference (ACH26) during a panel discussion on the future of regional alliances amidst rapid shifts in the Middle East.
The ambassador emphasised that under the leadership of His Majesty King Hamad and the directives of His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, Crown Prince and Prime Minister, Bahrain has successfully mobilised its military and security resources to protect its sovereignty and repel recent Iranian aggressions.
He detailed the kingdom’s proactive resilience strategy, which includes integrated civil defence systems, early warning mechanisms, and a holistic national response focused on transparency and the continuity of daily life.
The ambassador also highlighted the strength of the Bahrain-US strategic partnership, specifically the Comprehensive Security Integration and Prosperity Agreement (C-SIPA). He noted that the agreement has transitioned into a multilateral framework with the inclusion of the UK, and that the activation of Article II has been instrumental in enhancing Bahrain’s defence capabilities.
Concluding his remarks, the ambassador pointed to Bahrain’s leadership during its United Nations Security Council presidency and the adoption of Resolution 2817 as evidence of its commitment to global stability. He reiterated that regional security depends on unified co-operation between the GCC and international partners, emphasising that continuous dialogue remains the only path to navigating the region’s complex security and economic challenges.
