Social Insurance Organisation (SIO) chief executive officer Sahar Rashid Al Mannai has said that 94.9 per cent of insured Bahraini workers in the private sector have benefited from April salary payout from the unemployment fund after 86.6pc of the establishments completed registration electronically.
The organisation will begin transferring April wages to employers’ accounts today after the registration period ended on Tuesday, she noted, pointing out that for those who were unable to register, an additional grace period has been given until May 5.
She commended the vision of His Majesty King Hamad and the ongoing directives of His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, Crown Prince and Prime Minister, which place citizens at the centre of all development efforts.
She also highlighted ongoing efforts by relevant authorities to enhance the comprehensive social protection system, supporting citizens’ living stability and the sustainability of the labour market.
Ms Al Mannai said that payments will be made according to the approved schedule, after deducting monthly insurance contributions for covered individuals, up to the insured wage ceiling, in line with regulations, with employers responsible for paying the wages of Bahraini insured workers in the private sector.
