Around 250 workers enjoyed a movie experience at the cinema on Labour Day yesterday.
The event was organised by the Indian Community Welfare Association – ICRF Bahrain, in co-ordination with Lulu Care, Epix Cinema and Dana Mall, with the support of BBK.
Participants watched a movie and were provided with snacks, including biscuits, juice and water.
The attendees included female domestic workers, many of whom were visiting a cinema for the first time.
This year marked the third edition of the event.
The programme started with ICRF general secretary Aneesh Sreedharan welcoming the guests of honour, Labour Ministry senior safety engineer Hussain Al Hussaini and Epix Cinema chief executive officer Sujay Uchil, and the workers.
ICRF chairman advocate V K Thomas addressed the gathering, speaking about the group’s activities and thanking the guests of honour for their presence and support.
The day ended with the distribution of food packets to all participants.
