Bahrain continues to achieve advanced technological milestones, having consolidated its leading position among the world’s top five countries for mobile Internet speed, with an average speed of 274.94 Mbps, recent data released by the Speedtest Global Index for March 2026 revealed.
With this ranking, Bahrain continues to strengthen its presence among the Gulf countries leading the global digital landscape, underscoring the efficiency of its digital infrastructure and its ability to compete at the highest international levels. Gulf states have secured dominant positions in global rankings, outperforming several major economic and technological powers, including South Korea and the US.
Mai Nema, a strategic expert in marketing, digital technology, artificial intelligence, marketing communications, and the telecommunications sector at both regional and international levels, said that maintaining this global digital leadership makes Bahrain an exceptional hub for some of the world’s most advanced business sectors.
She added that, through the Sixth National Telecommunications Plan, the kingdom is working to enhance the resilience of its national infrastructure and expand international connectivity, ensuring Bahrain’s continued leadership in international indicators while providing an advanced digital experience aligned with future demands.
