More than 300 people participated in a celebration of the 45th anniversary of Art of Living (AOL) – a volunteer-based, non-profit, humanitarian and educational organisation focused on inner peace, wellbeing, and service through breathing, meditation, education and community development.
The event, which took place this week at the Indian Embassy, also commemorated the 70th birthday of the organisation’s founder Sri Sri Ravi Shankar.
The celebrations included soulful singing, chanting, and meditation, while showcasing AOL Bahrain’s community projects.
Indian Ambassador Vinod K Jacob attended.
AOL Bahrain has helped ‘several thousand’ individuals through its stress relief programmes, teaching yoga, breathing and meditation, as well as through its community service projects including planting trees, feeding the needy, organising blood donation and medical camps, and free yoga and meditation sessions for schools, associations and labour camps.
The organisation also highlighted upcoming projects during the event, including a global meditation programme from May 22 to 24. For details, email aolbah@gmail.com or call 39837475.
