BOWLING – BAHRAIN Club stayed hot on the heels of defending champions and leaders Riffa after week five of the 2026 Bahrain Bowling League, currently being played at Funland Centre’s lanes.
Both teams came away with resounding sweeps in their respective match-ups in the latest round of action.
Bahrain Club outclassed Sanad 8-0 (2,406-1,991) while Riffa were dominant in their 8-0 (2,334-1,839) triumph against Isa Town.
Bahrain Club were the aggressors from the opening frame in their contest. They won the first game 814-673 and then took the second 769-664. They completed their impressive performance by securing game three 823-654 to come away with maximum points.
Ahmed Fareed and Khaled Sameer were the stars for the victors, posting individual totals of 638 and 632 pins, respectively. Abdulla Abdulkarim added a 569 score while Emerson Gotencio scored 567. Abdulkarim had Bahrain Club’s high game of 245.
Sayed Moosa topped Sanad’s scorers with a 561 series, while teammate Mustafa Hasan scored their high game of 227.
Meanwhile, Riffa took all three games against Isa Town with comfortable margins, posting scores of 819-613, 752-587, and 763-618.
Ali Almass spearheaded their quartet with an individual 632 series while Ahmed Alkhaja added 613. Fawaz Abdulla had a 551 total and Ahmed Algoud scored 538. Algoud was Riffa’s high game scorer at 232.
Shaker Darraj paced Isa Town with a 500 total and also had their high game of 188 in the loss.
In another match, Um Al Hassam followed suit and secured a decisive 8-0 (2,152-1,941) win over Al Hala.
Rashid Aldalhan shone brightest for Um Al Hassam, scoring 581 pins, while Zayed Alawadhi chipped in with a 559 total. Teammates Isa Khalid and Ahmed Alansari were also in fine form, taking down 510 and 502 pins, respectively. Aldalhan also registered their high game of 212.
Waleed Darraj was the top performer for Hala with a 527 series. He also scored their best game of the night of 203.
Week five’s programme was wrapped up with Busaiteen defeating Al Ettifaq 6-2 (1,962-1,836).
Ettifaq started the match strong and took the first game 593-575. But Busaiteen bounced back, winning the next two with scores of 690-600 and 697-643, while also taking the two points for their superior total.
Yousif Alali was their top man with a 536 series while Abdulrahman Alali scored 528. Yaser Alkhan added a 496 total and Mohammed Alali a 402. Abdulrahman Alali had their high game in the contest, taking down 201 pins.
Following the round’s events, Riffa remained in first place on the league table and stayed two points ahead of Bahrain Club. Ranked third through eighth, respectively, were Um Al Hassam, Sanad, Hala, Busaiteen, Ettifaq, and Isa Town.
In the upcoming sixth round on Sunday, starting at 6.30pm at Funland, Isa Town will meet Ettifaq, Busaiteen will face Riffa, Um Al Hassam will take on Bahrain Club in a thrilling encounter, and Hala will battle Sanad.
