The Interior Ministry has announced the arrest of 15 field operatives in the case involving agents in Bahrain linked to proxies of Iran’s Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) that are based in Iran.
The arrested suspects are Fakhri Abdulla Rashid, Jamil Ali Salman, Hashim Salman Mohammed, Aziz Hassan Salman, Mehdi Mulla Hassan, Yassin Qassim Mohammed, Jafar Jassim Mohammed, Radhi Saleh Radhi, Hassan Abdulla Ahmed, Ali Faisal Ahmed, Mahmoud Jalil Mahmoud, Ahmed Abbas Ahmed, Ahmed Abdulla Ahmed, Nadhir Saeed Salman, and Isa Nizar Isa.
The ministry said investigations and security reports indicated that the suspects were responsible for carrying out incitement directives by attempting to influence citizens, particularly young people, with the aim of drawing them into activities criminalised by law.
It added that they exploited social infiltration methods to establish cells tasked with advancing the agendas of illegal entities.
The ministry said legal proceedings are underway against the arrested individuals, while search and investigation operations continue to identify and take action against anyone found to be involved in the network or in activities that violate the law.
The Interior Ministry emphasised that the movements of those involved had been under continuous monitoring and surveillance and stressed that the measures undertaken were aimed at safeguarding the security and safety of all members of society.
