CYCLING – Team Bahrain Victorious had a solid outing yesterday in the third stage of the 78th Tour Auvergne-Rhone-Alpes. The kingdom’s squad placed 10th in the challenging 28.4-kilometre leg, which was a team time trial.
The day featured two short climbs and a punchy finish ramp. Bahrain Victorious’ competitors included Santiago Buitrago, Pello Bilbao, Matej Mohoric, Vlad Van Mechelen, Nikias Arndt, Phil Bauhaus, and Matevz Govekar, and they finished with a combined time of 33 minutes 58.150 seconds.
They were classified a minute and five seconds behind stage winners Team Visma-Lease a Bike. The eight-stage race continues today with a 167.4-km leg.
