MOTORSPORT – Toyota Racing were the overall leaders last night after the first four hours of the iconic 24 Hours of Le Mans – the third round of the 2026 FIA World Endurance Championship (WEC), being held at Circuit de la Sarthe in France.
Toyota’s #8 TR010 Hybrid Hypercar driven by Sebastien Buemi, Brendon Hartley, and Ryo Hirakawa had completed 66 laps at that stage of the WEC spectacle, while holding a 29.291 seconds gap from BMW M Team WRT’s #20 crew of Robin Frijns, Rene Rast, and Sheldon van der Linde in their M Hybrid V8.
Manthey DK Engineering’s #91 Porsche 911 GT3 LMGT3 were in first place in the LMGT3 class, while Duqueine Team’s #30 Oreca 07-Gibson were setting the pace in the LMP2 category.
The race continued overnight and the chequered flag is scheduled to come down this evening at 5pm, Bahrain time.
