ARRAY Innovation has announced that Spectrum AI, its enterprise artificial intelligence and data solutions suite, has been ranked number one globally on Snowflake’s benchmark developed with Oxford University.
ARRAY’s AI solution achieved the highest document attribution score across the entire leaderboard, outperforming both open-weight and proprietary API-based systems in its ability to identify and cite the correct source documents.
Spectrum AI outperformed the next-best open-weight competitor by approximately 20 percentage points and is the only open-weight system on the benchmark to exceed human performance, surpassing the human baseline by 5.5 percentage points.
Spectrum AI is designed to help organisations extract intelligence from their data by combining extremely high-accuracy optical character recognition, retrieval, agentic reasoning, and citation verification.
Unlike conventional solutions that rely on pre-trained model knowledge, Spectrum AI reads and understands an organisation’s actual documents before answering, ensuring that responses are grounded in verifiable sources.
Powered by Spectrum OCR and Spectrum Agent running on Qwen 3.6 35B-A3B 8bit, the open-weight version of Spectrum AI uses only 3 billion active parameters per token.
Despite its compact architecture, the system surpassed leading proprietary models including GPT-5, Claude Sonnet 4.5, and Gemini 3 Pro, models widely believed to be significantly larger.
The system can also be deployed fully on-premise at more than 60 tokens per second on a single Mac, giving enterprises a high-performance, low cost option that keeps data entirely within their own environment.
ARRAY founder and chief executive officer Alaa Saeed highlighted the importance of this achievement saying: “Data sovereignty, privacy and control are key client considerations when adopting AI solutions. Thanks to the brilliance of our ARRAY R&D and Quant Dev departments, clients no longer have to choose between these important requirements and high performance. They can have both.”
ARRAY Innovation also offers Spectrum AI as a managed API, using Spectrum OCR and Spectrum Agent powered by Gemini 3.5 Flash. The API version achieved 91.8 per cent accuracy and outperformed human performance by 9.6 percentage points. It also surpassed leading models from Google, OpenAI, Anthropic, Perplexity, Alibaba, and others, including Gemini 3.5 Flash, GPT-5, Claude Sonnet 4.5, and Gemini 3.1 Pro.
“We didn’t set out to be the best in the region, we built Spectrum AI to be among the best in the world, and the leaderboard proves it,” said ARRAY R&D scientist Dr Ali N Salman, creator of the benchmarked Spectrum AI agent. “We are extremely proud that our innovation from Bahrain is globally competitive.”
Dr Salman is a highly distinguished researcher with over 20 global publications and specialises in privacy-preserving AI, RAG, and facial expression recognition.
The achievement highlights ARRAY Innovation’s focus on building AI systems that are not only accurate, but also auditable, deployable, and practical for enterprise environments.
Hussain Almusaad, head of quantitative development for ARRAY, explains the importance of this: “For regulated industries and enterprises handling sensitive data, the open-weight deployment offers a significant advantage. Data remains within the organisation’s environment, costs remain predictable, and the full system can be audited and tuned around the specific structure, format, and complexity of each client’s documents.”
