The Bahrain Keraleeya Samajam (BKS) held an induction ceremony at its Segaiya headquarters to swear in newly-elected executive committee members for the 2026-2028 term.
The new members, headed by president P V Radhakrishna Pillai and general secretary Varghese Karakkal, were formally inducted by Indian Ambassador Vinod Jacob, who was also the chief guest at the event.
Mr Karakkal delivered the welcome address, while Mr Pillai presided over the function.
Mr Pillai emphasised that the Samajam’s continued success is made possible through the wholehearted support and co-operation of its members.
Mr Jacob commended BKS for its exemplary community service, particularly its commendable
initiatives during the challenging times.
The ambassador presented official badges to the new executive committee members, honoured the outgoing committee members with mementos, and also inducted the newly constituted BKS Ladies Committee, led by its president Mohini Thomas and general secretary Nimmy Roshan.
The event featured captivating dance performances choreographed by Shibu Karunakaran and Kalamandalam Avani Arjun, followed by a vibrant concert by renowned singer Pandalam Balan and Idea Star Singer fame Parvathy Menon.
BKS was established in 1947 by a group of visionaries, and is one of the oldest and largest leading socio-cultural organisations in the kingdom.
