Oman's Sultan Haitham bin Tarik met today with Sir Keir Starmer, Prime Minister of the United Kingdom, at 10 Downing Street in the British capital, London.
The meeting reviewed the deep-rooted and enduring historical ties between the two friendly nations. Discussions centred on ways to further elevate the strategic partnership in a manner that advances shared interests and unlocks broader prospects for bilateral cooperation across multiple domains—in fulfilment of the mutual aspirations of their peoples for sustained growth and prosperity.
The meeting also addressed the regional developments, with an exchange of perspectives on effective pathways toward de-escalation and conflict prevention, in support of ongoing negotiations and diplomatic initiatives aimed at restoring safe and secure maritime navigation through the Gulf's strategic waterways.
In addition, the two sides explored avenues for reaching a comprehensive and lasting agreement on outstanding issues—foremost among them the Iranian nuclear file—in a manner that upholds regional stability, fosters peaceful coexistence and promotes constructive engagement among all neighbouring states in the region.
