His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, Crown Prince, Deputy Supreme Commander of the Armed Forces and Prime Minister, yesterday met United Kingdom’s Defence Senior Adviser to the Middle East and North Africa Vice Admiral Edward Ahlgren and an accompanying delegation at Riffa Palace.
HRH Prince Salman highlighted the historic and deep-rooted relationship between Bahrain and the UK, and the continued advancement of bilateral ties.
He stressed the shared national commitment to advancing the Bahrain-UK strategic partnership across various sectors, particularly in military and defence co-operation, in line with existing partnerships and agreements, including the Comprehensive Security Integration and Prosperity Agreement (C-SIPA), to achieve shared goals and aspirations.
HRH the Crown Prince and Prime Minister welcomed Vice Admiral Ahlgren, highlighting the advanced levels of co-operation and partnership between both countries across various sectors, which contribute to shared growth and prosperity.
He stressed the critical role of the UK and its allies in safeguarding regional and international security, stability and development.
During the meeting, avenues to enhance co-operation, latest regional developments, and issues of common interest were reviewed.
National Security Adviser, Royal Guard Commander and Secretary-General of the Supreme Defence Council Lieutenant General Shaikh Nasser bin Hamad Al Khalifa, Prime Minister’s Court Minister Shaikh Isa bin Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa and Finance and National Economy Minister Shaikh Salman bin Khalifa Al Khalifa were in attendance.
