His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, Crown Prince and Prime Minister expressed his pride in the achievements of Bahraini citizens across various fields, noting that these accomplishments reflect their ambition, creativity, and determination, while showcasing the talents of youth and national workforce, who continue to advance national aspirations.
HRH Prince Salman bin Hamad yesterday met the teams who won the Startup Bahrain-UoB Competition at Riffa Palace.
HRH Prince Salman highlighted the progress made by StartUp Bahrain since its launch in 2013 and how it has strengthened Bahrain’s entrepreneurship ecosystem by empowering Bahraini start-ups to launch and scale up.
HRH Prince Salman noted that StartUp Bahrain continues to foster an environment that supports talent and entrepreneurship.
He affirmed the importance of further strengthening public-private partnerships and supporting initiatives that create new opportunities for entrepreneurs, thereby enhancing Bahrain’s position as a hub for innovation, investment, and promising startups, while supporting the development of the kingdom’s entrepreneurship ecosystem and enabling startups to grow, expand, and compete.
He commended Tamkeen’s efforts, led by Prime Minister’s Court Minister and Tamkeen Board of Directors chairman Shaikh Isa bin Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, in advancing national capabilities and creating opportunities for entrepreneurs.
He also commended the participants for presenting innovative projects that reflect the ambition and creativity of Bahraini youth to develop cutting edge solutions to address various challenges.
He also commended the organisers of the competition for providing a platform that supports talented individuals and entrepreneurs, noting that participation in the competition will become a graduation requirement for students enrolled at the University of Bahrain’s College of Business Administration next year.
HRH Prince Salman also highlighted the efforts of Education Minister and University of Bahrain Board of Trustees chairman Dr Mohammed Mubarak Juma, along with those involved in the education sector, in developing initiatives that match educational outcomes with the needs of the labour market.
He also expressed his appreciation to all the competition’s partners, such as the Bahrain Economic Development Board (Bahrain EDB), Industry and Commerce Ministry, the University of Bahrain, and StartUp Bahrain.
The winning teams expressed their appreciation for HRH the Crown Prince and Prime Minister’s continued support of young talent and entrepreneurs in Bahrain.
Shaikh Isa, Finance and National Economy Minister Shaikh Salman bin Khalifa Al Khalifa, Cabinet Affairs Minister Hamad bin Faisal Al Malki, Dr Juma, along with a number of senior officials, also attended the meeting.
