Bahrain has welcomed the announcement by US President Donald Trump regarding an historic agreement on disarmament in the Gaza Strip.
In a statement, the Foreign Ministry expressed Bahrain’s deep appreciation for the wise diplomatic efforts and initiatives undertaken by the US under the leadership of President Trump, with the support of Egypt, Qatar, Türkiye, the Board of Peace and other regional and international partners, which contributed to reaching the agreement. The Ministry affirmed that these efforts reflect the importance of joint action and multilateral diplomacy in enhancing regional and international security and peace.
The ministry affirmed that this represents a positive and constructive step in support of the implementation of the comprehensive peace plan, contributing to ending the suffering of the Palestinian people and consolidating security, stability and lasting peace in the region.
The ministry reaffirmed Bahrain’s full support for the implementation of the comprehensive peace plan in accordance with United Nations Security Council Resolution 2803.
President Trump said yesterday that the deal he announced to bring peace to Gaza was “a great breakthrough” despite signs from both Hamas and Israel that significant hurdles remained before a deal can be implemented.
