Bahrain’s Embassy to Syria confirmed it has been following up, in co-ordination with the Foreign Ministry and the relevant Syrian authorities, on the situation of citizens who were unable to enter Syrian territory upon their arrival at Damascus International Airport, due to the failure of the travel agencies that organised their trips to complete the required security clearances before travel.
The embassy explained that it acted immediately upon receiving the report, contacting the citizens directly to check on their well-being and provide them with the necessary consular care and assistance.
It also conducted intensive and continuous diplomatic communications with Syrian authorities to address their situation and overcome obstacles preventing their entry.
The embassy’s efforts and diplomatic contacts, in co-operation with the Syrian authorities, resulted in the Bahraini citizens being granted entry and completing their entry procedures into Syrian territory.
The embassy clarified that the problem arose because some travel and tourism agencies organised trips before completing the security approvals and regulatory procedures required by the Syrian authorities.
