The Municipalities Affairs and Agriculture Ministry has announced the launch of new digital services under the ‘Benayat’ system, including a ‘Refund of Deposit Amount’ service and a ‘Building Completion Certificate’ service, as well as the renewal of building permits for a period of up to three years.
The ministry said 1,284 applications had been processed through the system from January until June this year.
As part of the further development of the ‘Benayat’ system, the ministry is working to improve the building permit services system by enhancing procedural efficiency, expediting transactions and facilitating licensing requirements for consultants and engineering offices.
This is in addition to expanding the range of digital services, strengthening electronic coordination with relevant authorities, and adding the General Directorate of Civil Defence to the system’s initial approval stage.
The ministry has also completed the analysis of the documents required for all types of building permits, bringing the average time for issuing a building permit to 1.9 days.
The ‘Benayat’ system is Bahrain’s unified electronic portal for issuing building permits for residential, investment, commercial and industrial projects.
It was launched as part of Bahrain Economic Vision 2030 to streamline procedures, enabling licensed engineering offices to complete all transactions and submit applications electronically.
