Social Development Minister Osama Al Alawi, Police Chief Lieutenant General Tariq Al Hassan, Housing and Urban Planning Ministry Under-Secretary Fatima Al Mannai, Director General of the Northern Governorate Police Directorate Brigadier Saleh Al Doseri and Director General of the General Directorate of Civil Defence Brigadier General Pilot Ali Al Kubaisi visited the Blaze-hit residential apartment in Al Ramli.
They were acting on the orders of His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, Crown Prince and Prime Minister, to investigate the tragic fire, which resulted in the deaths of four members of the same family, establish the circumstances and causes of the fire and take the necessary measures based on the findings of the investigation, with the results to be presented to the Cabinet.
They inspected the site and were briefed on the circumstances of the incident and the measures taken by the authorities, stressing the importance of completing the investigation as quickly as possible to establish all the details and causes of the fire.
They also reviewed the conditions of the families living in the building and stressed the need for continued co-ordination between the relevant authorities to provide the necessary support to those affected by the incident.
Mr Al Alawi said HRH the Crown Prince and Prime Minister’s order reflects his continued attention to and follow-up on the safety of citizens.
He also offered his sincere condolences to the families and relatives of those who died.
Lt Gen Al Hassan expressed appreciation for HRH the Crown Prince and Prime Minister’s attention to the incident and commitment to quickly establishing its causes and taking the necessary action.
He noted that Interior Minister General Shaikh Rashid bin Abdulla Al Khalifa was following up on the procedures and efforts to establish the causes of the fire and provide the necessary care and support.
Ms Al Mannai expressed sincere condolences to the families and relatives of those who died.
She said the ministry was working to ensure that safety and fire prevention measures are applied in residential buildings to prevent such tragic incidents from recurring.
