Two expats were arrested yesterday for allegedly committing several acts of fraud and embezzling more than BD4,000.
The Muharraq Governorate Police Directorate said the suspects, aged 24 and 25, lured individuals through an online platform by offering decoration and carpentry services under the name of a cancelled commercial establishment. They obtained money from victims without carrying out the agreed work and took raw materials from a firm without paying for them.
They were arrested following complaints from the victims, the Interior Ministry said in a statement yesterday.
The case was referred to the Public Prosecution for legal action.
