An Air India Express flight from Dammam, Saudi Arabia, to New Delhi made an emergency landing at Ahmedabad Airport on Monday after cabin crew discovered a tissue paper bearing a bomb threat.
The flight, carrying 32 passengers, was diverted after a crew member found a tissue paper in the lavatory with the word “bomb” written on it, police said.
The aircraft landed safely at Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel International Airport in Ahmedabad at around 4.30pm, where security agencies conducted a thorough search of the plane.
“Nothing suspicious was found during the security check,” Assistant Commissioner of Police VN Yadav told local media.
An investigation has been launched to determine who wrote the note and the circumstances surrounding the incident.
