The Bahrain Philharmonic Orchestra, led by Maestro Dr. Mubarak Najem, presented “Cinema and TV in Concert” at the Bahrain National Theatre, celebrating Arab and international music associated with film and television productions that have left a lasting impression on cultural memory.
The concert opened with celebrated Arab and international compositions associated with prominent film and television productions, from the Arab world to Hollywood and Bollywood, in a programme reflecting a diversity of musical styles, rhythms and traditions.
The Bahrain Philharmonic Orchestra presented these works through a contemporary artistic vision, with the participation of distinguished Bahraini and international musicians and artists.
The programme also featured a selection of dramatic music inspired by some of the world’s best-known productions, stories, characters and animated works.
Through a rich orchestral performance, the concert revisited epic film scores and memorable melodies that have formed part of the artistic memory of audiences for decades.
Dr. Mubarak Najem is one of the region’s leading figures in orchestral music and the founder of the Bahrain Philharmonic Orchestra, which brings together more than 100 musicians and choir members from Bahrain and around the world.
He holds a doctorate in arts and the philosophy of folk arts and studied music at the Conservatoire in the Arab Republic of Egypt.
He also holds a qualification as a Director of Music and prestigious qualifications from the Royal Academy of Music and the Royal College of Music in the United Kingdom.
He has also received numerous local, regional and international honours and awards.
