2027 Bahrain Championship on January 28-31 at RGC part of DP World Tour’s International Swing
GOLF – The 2027 edition of the prestigious Bapco Energies Bahrain Championship, the kingdom’s premier golf tournament, is scheduled to be played from January 28 to 31 at Royal Golf Club, it was announced yesterday.
The DP World Tour has released its 2027 schedule, with the Bapco Energies Bahrain Championship being one of six tournaments to be held next year in the GCC.
The region hosts four consecutive weeks of golf at the start of the calendar year, and the Race to Dubai will again end in the UAE in November.
The kingdom’s event will be part of the DP World Tour’s International Swing, in which next season’s Gulf run begins with the Team Cup at Abu Dhabi Golf Resort from January 15 to 17, bringing team match play to the start of action.
The Tour then moves to Emirates Golf Club for the 38th Hero Dubai Desert Classic from January 21 to 24, the first Rolex Series event of 2027.
The Bapco Energies Bahrain Championship follows the following weekend and then the Qatar Masters at Doha Golf Club will take place from February 3 to 6, completing the swing’s Middle East leg.
The season then returns to the UAE for its finale. The DP World Tour Play-Offs begin with the Abu Dhabi Championship at Yas Links from November 4 to 7.
They conclude with the DP World Tour Championship in Dubai on the Earth Course at Jumeirah Golf Estates from November 11 to 14, where the Race to Dubai will be decided.
The Hero Dubai Desert Classic, Abu Dhabi Championship, and DP World Tour Championship mean three of the Tour’s five Rolex Series events will be staged in the Emirates.
The other two are the Genesis Scottish Open from July 8 to 11 and the BMW PGA Championship at Wentworth Club from September 23 to 26.
Across the wider schedule, 42 tournaments in 24 countries will count towards the Race to Dubai.
Three historic tournaments return to the schedule, namely the Hong Kong Open, the Deutsche Bank Singapore Open, and the Open de Portugal|Cascais-Lisboa.
The Hong Kong and Singapore events will be co-sanctioned with the Asian Tour as part of the new tripartite partnership, including the PGA Tour, which was agreed in July.
There are also new dates for the Amgen Irish Open, FedEx Open de France, and BMW PGA Championship because of the 2027 Ryder Cup, which takes place at Adare Manor in Ireland from September 17 to 19.

“It is a schedule that offers incredible international opportunities for existing and new players and one which will appeal to our fans globally.”
Next year’s Bapco Energies Bahrain Championship will be the fourth time it is to be held. Past winners include South Africa’s Dylan Frittelli in the inaugural edition in 2024, England’s Laurie Canter in 2025, and Germany’s Freddy Schott earlier this year.
