A new self-service kiosk has been installed at the Capital Trustees Board headquarters in Tubli, enabling residents and visitors to access a wide range of government services more conveniently.
It was officially put into operation yesterday in the presence of Capital Trustees Board chairman Saleh Tarradah, vice-chairwoman Dr Khulood Al Qattan and senior community members.
The Capital Trustees Board is the first municipal council in Bahrain to have the service installed, giving residents and visitors an additional channel to complete government transactions quickly and efficiently.
The Information and eGovernment Authority (iGA) says the kiosks are designed to simplify procedures and reduce waiting times by allowing customers to carry out services independently without the need to visit traditional government service counters.
The kiosk allows users to update information stored on their identity card chip, including residential and work-related details, while also enabling them to view the information stored on the chip through the built-in card reader.
It also provides access to the Government Notifications Service, allowing users to register or update their contact details and receive official government alerts by SMS or email.
Selected kiosks also provide eKey-related services, while the wider network is being expanded to provide government services through convenient self-service channels.
Updating ID card chip information through a self-service kiosk costs BD1, requires a valid ID card and does not require a prior appointment. The iGA lists the kiosk service as an immediate transaction once the required steps are completed.
The Tubli facility joins a growing network of kiosks around Bahrain.
These include the iGA’s self-service centre in Isa Town, which operates around the clock, as well as locations at Seef Mall Muharraq, the Labour Market Regulatory Authority, Bahrain Mall Post Office, Wadi Al Sail Traffic Services Centre and the Social Insurance Organisation in the Diplomatic Area. A kiosk is also available at Bahrain International Airport, which provides 24-hour access to its available services.
