Opportunities for collaboration in public health, scientific research, capacity building, training and professional development were discussed during a recent meeting between Royal College of Surgeons in Ireland (RCSI) – Medical University of Bahrain and the Gulf Centre for Disease Prevention and Control (GCDC).
Discussions also covered avenues to draw on RCSI’s academic and scientific expertise to support health programmes and initiatives with GCDC.
The meeting reflected the university’s commitment to developing partnerships that advance healthcare and research, and to promoting the exchange of expertise and knowledge within the region.
At the meeting were Gulf Health Council adviser to the general manager and former Saudi Shura Council member Dr Yazid Al Ohaly, GCDC chief executive officer Professor Manaf Alqahtani, GCDC public health programmes and policies executive director Dr Rasha Alfawaz, RCSI president Professor Sameer Otoom and members of the university’s senior management on campus.
