Bahrain's Shitaye Habte won the gold medal in the women's marathon today at the 20th Asian Games in Aichi-Nagoya, Japan.
Habte triumphed in the 42.2-kilometre race in a time of two hours 27 minutes and 31 seconds.
It was the first Asiad title of her career and it earned the kingdom's delegation their fifth gold, and ninth medal overall, in Aichi-Nagoya.
