The national readiness of Bahrain reflects the strength of its institutions, Finance and National Economy Minister Shaikh Salman bin Khalifa Al Khalifa has said. He highlighted that efforts continue to further strengthen it, under the comprehensive development process led by His Majesty King Hamad and the directives of His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, Crown Prince and Prime Minister.
Shaikh Salman said the comprehensive development process has consolidated the foundations of the state of institutions and law in the kingdom, underpinned by the principles of the National Action Charter, and supported by integration and co-operation between the executive and legislative authorities.
“This has contributed to building national institutions capable of effectively contributing to growth and prosperity, addressing challenges, ensuring the continuity of essential services, and safeguarding national assets under various circumstances.
“Addressing the challenges arising from regional developments and their security, economic and service-related repercussions has contributed to developing a national crisis management framework. This framework continues to evolve through enhancing co-ordination among ministries and government agencies and the ongoing advancement of response mechanisms to ensure swift action in dealing with developments and the continuity of vital services.”
Shaikh Salman affirmed that during the Iranian attacks, the government addressed the repercussions through a proactive approach that included monitoring developments, ensuring the readiness of the health, service and economic sectors and supply chains, maintaining the stability of prices and the national workforce, and ensuring the continuity of government services, alongside rebuilding damaged properties. The minister added that the experience reinforced the importance of continuing to raise national readiness levels.
Shaikh Salman highlighted Bahrain’s active diplomatic efforts at the regional and international levels, particularly during its presidency of the UN Security Council in April.
He said these efforts helped convey Bahrain’s position and emphasise the protection of civilians and facilities, respect for international law, and the security of international navigation. He also highlighted the adoption of UN Security Council Resolution 2817 (2026), which reflected support for Bahrain’s positions since the beginning of the aggression.
