Four innovative startups showcased their business solutions during the 28th edition of the StartUp Bahrain Pitch event, powered by the Labour Fund (Tamkeen) in collaboration with the SME Development Board.
Online dress rental and resale marketplace ‘Durrah’ secured first place, while educational platform ‘Edupath’ was awarded second place after pitching before a panel of industry leaders and investors.
The event was attended by Bahrain Development Bank Board chief executive Dalal Al Qais and Tamkeen deputy chief executive for programme design and delivery Khalid Al Bayat, alongside members of Tamkeen’s board of directors, the SME Development Board, and the Economic Development Board.
Keynote speaker and Al Amanna Capital deputy chairman Sameer Uchi led a distinguished panel of judges that included Bahrain Fintech Bay chief executive Bader Sater, BNVT Capital investment associate Mohamed Salahuddin, and Mumtalakat investments associate director Laith Al Khalili.
The pitching startups included Durrah, an online marketplace for dress rental and resale offering verified listings, secure payments, deposit protection, and AI-generated photography; Edupath, a digital platform assisting parents in selecting schools based on child personality, budget, and curriculum preferences; Jamaheer, a digital football platform connecting fans with clubs through live match data, official content, engagement, and merchandise; and Oberry, a retail marketplace combining short-video product discovery and instant purchasing.
Durrah representative Fatima Al Najem described the win as an important milestone that validates the team’s dedication to developing an innovative business model. She highlighted that expert feedback from the panel would play a key role in driving their expansion.
Second-place winner Batool Al Abbar of Edupath noted that the recognition reinforces the team’s commitment to scaling the project while building valuable connections within Bahrain’s business ecosystem.
The initiative falls under Tamkeen’s 2026 strategic priorities, which focus on driving high economic impact, boosting private sector competitiveness, and supporting startup growth to contribute to the kingdom’s ustainable development.
