Bahrain strongly condemned and denounced the repeated attacks by the Iranian-backed Houthi militia, as the latest targeted the Taiba power distribution station in Medina, which supplies electricity to the Prophet’s Mosque.
The Foreign Ministry described the strike as a flagrant violation of international law, the United Nations Charter, and the Organisation of Islamic Co-operation Charter, calling it a dangerous escalation against holy sites and a provocation to Muslims worldwide.
In a statement, the ministry expressed Bahrain’s full solidarity with Saudi Arabia, underscoring its inherent right to self-defence under Article 51 of the UN Charter to protect its sovereignty, citizens, residents, and holy sites. It also reaffirmed that Saudi Arabia’s security was integral to its own, highlighting Saudi Arabia’s revered religious status across the Arab and Islamic world as the custodian of Islam’s two holiest mosques.
