Cultural, heritage and archaeological sites attract more than 22,000 visitors in September.
Cultural, archaeological and heritage sites across Bahrain attracted 22,486 visitors in September, according to official statistics from the Bahrain Authority for Culture and Antiquities published on the Bahrain Open Data Portal.
Visited sites included forts, museums, heritage centres and archaeological sites.
Bahrain Fort topped the list of the most visited destinations with 12,960 visitors, including 6,022 foreigners, 5,694 Bahrainis, 907 visitors from GCC countries, 218 Arab visitors and 119 through organised tourist groups.
The Tree of Life and Visitor Centre ranked second with 2,687 visitors, including 2,175 foreigners.
The Bahrain National Museum received 2,539 visitors, including 1,648 foreigners, 403 visitors from GCC countries and 321 Bahrainis.
The Cultural Hall attracted 1,023 visitors, including 542 Bahrainis and 481 foreigners, while the Bahrain National Theatre recorded 800 visitors, including 700 visitors from organised tourist groups and 100 VIPs.
Bu Maher Fort received 585 visitors, including 490 foreigners, while the Pearling Path Visitor Centre recorded 463 visitors, including 278 foreigners.
The list of sites also included the Jasra Handicrafts Centre, Bahrain Fort Site Museum, Al Khalifiyah Library, Saar Settlement, Arts Centre, Shaikh Salman bin Ahmed Al-Fateh Fort, Jasra House, Fakhro House,
A’ali Burial Mounds, Al Ghaus House and Al Alawi House.
