Carbon offsetting platform Safa, a portfolio company of Bahrain’s sovereign wealth fund Mumtalakat, will host a special session on industrial sustainability at the upcoming Made in GCC Forum and Expo 2026.
Organised in partnership with Sustainability Forum Middle East (SFME), the session titled ‘Sustainability Beyond Compliance: Manufacturing’s Next Frontier’ takes place on Thursday from 10am to 10.40am at Exhibition World Bahrain.
Held under the patronage of His Majesty King Hamad, the inaugural GCC-wide forum aims to advance regional industrial integration, cross-border investment, and sustainable supply chains.
The discussion will examine how regional manufacturers can translate environmental opportunities into commercially viable, scalable projects while overcoming implementation barriers.
Featured speakers include Safa assistant manager Razan Bucheeri, Alba chief power officer Amin Sultan, Industry and Commerce Ministry director of industrial development Khalid Al Qasimi, and Asry head of technical portfolio development Omar Al Enezi. The session will be moderated by Boston Consulting Group project leader Lukas Jochem.
“Manufacturers across the GCC have a significant opportunity to position sustainability as a source of stronger performance, resilience, and competitive advantage,” said Safa chief executive officer Talal Al Araifi. “The challenge is to turn ambition into projects that are practical, investable and capable of delivering measurable value.”
SFME founder and FinMark Communications managing director Laila Danesh added: “The transition will depend on practical collaboration between manufacturers, policymakers, technology providers, and investors to scale solutions that deliver both environmental and commercial value.”
