His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, Crown Prince and Prime Minister, yesterday issued an edict on the reconstitution of the committee overseeing the implementation of the National Energy Efficiency Action Plan, the National Renewable Energy Action Plan and their initiatives, based on nominations by the relevant entities.
The committee will be chaired by the Electricity and Water Affairs Minister.
Its members will be:
1. Under-secretary of the Works Ministry of Works.
2. Assistant under-secretary for domestic and foreign trade at the Industry and Commerce Ministry.
3. Assistant under-secretary for land transport at the Transportation and Telecommunications Ministry.
4. Assistant under-secretary for engineering affairs at the Housing and Urban Planning Ministry.
5. Vice president for electricity affairs at the Electricity and Water Authority.
6. Assistant under-secretary for public utilities at the Municipalities Affairs and Agriculture Ministry.
7. Director of the public revenue policy directorate at the Finance and National Economy Ministry.
8. Director of the policies and strategic planning directorate at the Oil and Environment Ministry.
9. Director of the projects directorate at the Prime Minister’s Office.
10. Director of the climate change and sustainable development directorate at the Supreme Council for Environment.
The entity referred to in item (9) shall designate its representative on the committee.
Membership shall be for a renewable term of three years.
The ministers, each within their respective jurisdiction, shall implement the provisions of this edict, which shall take effect from the day following the date of its publication in the Official Gazette.
