Taptap Send, a leading cross-border payments platform, officially launched its money transfer services in Bahrain yesterday during Fintech Forward 2026 at Exhibition World Bahrain.
The expansion follows the company’s receipt of a Payment Service Provider licence from the Central Bank of Bahrain (CBB), marking Bahrain as Taptap Send’s second GCC market after the UAE. The platform enables users across more than 35 countries to transfer money to recipients in over 90 destination markets.
“Bahrain has built a strong reputation for financial innovation, supported by the Central Bank of Bahrain’s forward-looking regulatory approach,” said Michael Faye, chief executive and co-founder of Taptap Send. “Securing this licence reflects our commitment to Bahrain’s financial services ecosystem as we continue our regional expansion.”
Dalal Buhejji, executive director of business development for financial services at the Bahrain Economic Development Board (Bahrain EDB), welcomed the move, noting that Taptap Send’s entry will support the continued evolution of cross-border payments and strengthen the kingdom’s fintech sector.
The launch builds on Taptap Send’s recent regulatory approvals from the Central Bank of the UAE, where it secured Stored Value Facilities, Retail Payment Services (Category II), and Exchange Business (Category IV) licences to bolster its footprint across the Gulf.
