Bahrain has condemned the blatant terrorist attacks carried out by the Houthi militia, which targeted Abha and King Khalid international airports, resulting in the deaths and injuries of several innocent people.
Interior Minister General Shaikh Rashid bin Abdullah Al Khalifa extended his sincere condolences to Saudi Arabia and the families of the victims and wished the injured a speedy recovery.
He affirmed Bahrain’s full solidarity with Saudi Arabia. He also reiterated Bahrain’s unwavering support for all measures Saudi takes to protect its sovereignty, security, and stability, and to defend its territory and civilian and vital facilities.
General Shaikh Rashid made the remarks as he co-chaired the a meeting of the Security Committee of the Saudi-Bahraini Coordination Council with Saudi Interior Minister Prince Abdulaziz bin Saud bin Naif Al Saud yesterday via video conference.
He praised the security co-ordination between the two countries in addressing developments and challenges arising from exceptional regional circumstances, stressing the importance of further advancing security initiatives to achieve greater security integration.
The Saudi Interior Minister highlighted the efforts of the working teams from both sides to implement the agreed initiatives and intensify efforts to complete them.
Meanwhile, debris from an intercepted Houthi ballistic missile damaged a kindergarten and a medical clinic complex in Saudi Arabia’s capital Riyadh yesterday, the Kingdom’s Civil Defence said.
The missile, launched by Yemen’s Iran-backed Houthis, was intercepted and destroyed before debris fell in the city, causing material damage to the two facilities, according to a statement carried by the Saudi Press Agency (SPA). The statement did not report any casualties or injuries.
Longstanding historical and fraternal relations between Bahrain and Saudi Arabia are founded on solid ties and distinguished strategic partnerships across various fields, Finance and National Economy Minister Shaikh Salman bin Khalifa Al Khalifa has affirmed.
He highlighted the pivotal role of the Bahraini-Saudi Co-ordination Council, co-chaired by His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, Crown Prince and Prime Minister, and Saudi Crown Prince and Prime Minister Prince Mohammed bin Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud, in advancing bilateral relations towards greater cooperation and integration.
This came during a virtual meeting yesterday of the Co-ordination Committee for Economic, Energy, Trade and Industry Affairs, which was co-chaired by the Finance and Economy Minister and Saudi Minister of Economy and Planning Faisal bin Fadhil Al Ibrahim.
