Gulf Air, the national carrier of Bahrain, ranked first in the Middle East and Africa for on-time arrivals for the second consecutive month, according to the September 2026 report issued by Cirium, an independent aviation analytics provider, maintaining its position as the most punctual airline in the Middle East.
According to Cirium’s September 2026 On-Time Performance Monthly Report, Gulf Air ranked first in the Middle East and Africa category, with an on-time arrival rate of 92.90 per cent, up from second place in August.
The airline recorded an improvement of 0.43 percentage points compared with August, with its on-time arrival rate rising from 92.47 per cent in August to 92.90 per cent in September.
Gulf Air also recorded strong results in other operational indicators during September, with an on-time departure rate of 91.58pc and 83.02pc of its flights completed within scheduled block time, the highest among the five airlines listed in Cirium’s operational highlights for the Middle East and Africa category. Its flight completion rate was 99.44pc across a total of 4,089 flights during the month.
These results reflect Gulf Air’s consistent operational performance, efficient planning and execution, and operational resilience, alongside the efforts of its operations, engineering and ground services teams and flight crews, helping maintain high levels of punctuality and reliability across its network.
