A breast cancer awareness campaign was recently held for around 90 domestic workers in collaboration between the Indian Community Welfare Association (ICWA) and the American Mission Hospital.
All participants underwent diabetic and blood pressure checkups followed by physical examinations and doctor consultations and medics highlighted the importance of early screening. The participants were guided on how to self-examine themselves too.
American Mission Hospital will provide further follow-up care, including ultrasound scans and mammograms where required, free of charge.
ICWA also distributed dry ration kits and provided participants with snacks and lunch packets.
