Bahrainis will celebrate a new national occasion on June 1 every year after His Majesty King Hamad announced the date as an official holiday known as the Day of Allegiance and Loyalty.
The announcement was made by His Majesty as he opened the exceptional fifth session of the sixth legislative term today.
The new annual occasion coincides with the day His Majesty signed the Document of Gratitude and Loyalty to the people of Bahrain, recognising their role and contributions to the Kingdom.
Declaring June 1 a national occasion and official holiday establishes a dedicated date in the national calendar to commemorate the bond between the leadership and the people of Bahrain.
