BOWLING – The fourth edition of the Khalid bin Hamad Bowling Championship has received official recognition from the International Bowling Federation (IBF) and the Asian Bowling Federation (ABF), the Bahrain Bowling Federation (BBF) has announced.
The event is to be included in the Asian rankings for the second consecutive year.
This reflects the support of Supreme Council for Youth and Sports first deputy chairman, General Sports Authority chairman, and Bahrain Olympic Committee president Shaikh Khalid bin Hamad Al Khalifa, and his efforts to develop Bahraini sport and strengthen its international presence.
The prestigious tournament is scheduled to take place from November 27 to December 9 in the kingdom, building on the success of the previous editions and its continued technical and organisational development.
The recognition strengthens the championship’s competitive standing and helps attract leading bowlers from Asia and around the world.
Naif Oqab from the UAE won last year’s event and came away with BD7,500 in prize money.
Mustafa Almousawi from Kuwait was the runner-up while Jassim Almuraikhi from Qatar came third, while Rashed Aldalhan was the top Bahraini finisher in fourth overall, also competing in the youth category.
