A Tamil Nadu influencer has been inundated with fraudulent cash-on-delivery orders after posting a video that revealed his home address.
Madurai-based content creator Veeramani originally published a video asking his followers to send him sweets for the Diwali festival.
What started as an innocent request quickly turned into a major headache for the influencer.
According to follow-up videos, he has been continuously swamped by delivery riders dropping off items he never requested, all requiring cash-on-delivery payment.
The prank escalated beyond food deliveries to large home appliances, including refrigerators, televisions, smartphones, and washing machines.
"Why are you guys doing this? The delivery boys are coming from long distances and I don't have money for all of that," Veeramani said in one video after receiving 15 separate deliveries within half an hour.
The situation has deteriorated to the point where Veeramani stated in a recent update that he plans to leave town until the harassment stops.
"I am going out of town because so many people are angry after pranksters placed orders worth lakhs," he explained.
Compounding the ordeal, Veeramani reported that strangers also used his phone number to sign up for organ donation registries, resulting in unwanted inquiries regarding kidney donations.
