GULF WEEKLY -
The fourth season of comedy and crime drama Tulsa King begins tomorrow on Paramount+.
Starring Sylvester Stallone, the series follows Dwight Manfredi, a gangster in his golden years, who builds a criminal organisation from the ground up in Tulsa, Oklahoma, following a 25-year stint in prison.
The new episodes will see the mafia leader fight to legitimise his empire and protect his crew as corrupt politicians, dangerous new enemies and a crushing personal loss hit from every direction.
“As we come into season four, Dwight has all of his ducks in a row as far as his businesses are concerned,” executive producer Terence Winter said in an interview.
“But of course, that doesn’t sit well with his enemies,” he added.
Sylvester also teased a threatening new antagonist that he believes fans aren’t prepared for, describing the villain as ‘one of the most dangerous, unpredictable, psychopathic characters ever seen on Tulsa King’.
“There’s growing tension between Tulsa and the gangs in New York City, and this leads to an interesting climax,” he noted.
The streaming service announced a fifth season, which will see Dwight relocating to New York City.
Samuel Jackson is also set to star in the spinoff series Frisco King, reprising his role as Russell Lee Washington Jr, an ex-con and former New York mob hitman, who defies an order to kill Dwight and relocates to Frisco, Texas, to start his own criminal operation. The release date for the production is yet to be confirmed.
