His Majesty King Hamad has commended Russia’s solidarity, expressed by President Vladimir Putin, towards Bahrain following the recent Iranian attacks targeting the kingdom.
The King also highlighted Moscow’s role on the international stage and its commitment to promoting global security and peace as he received Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov.
The minister is visiting the kingdom to attend the Joint Ministerial Meeting of the Strategic Dialogue between the Gulf Co-operation Council and Russia.
Mr Lavrov extended the greetings of President Putin to His Majesty, along with his best wishes for Bahrain and its people to achieve further progress and prosperity under his leadership.
His Majesty also extended greetings and best wishes to President Putin and the Russian people for continued progress and prosperity.
The King reviewed bilateral relations and opportunities to strengthen co-operation in various key domains.
He affirmed the strong ties and friendship between the kingdom and Russia, and their mutual commitment to further strengthening them.
His Majesty expressed appreciation for the Russian President’s important role in strengthening relations, which are built on mutual respect and co-ordination.
He wished the joint ministerial meeting success.
The meeting also included an exchange of views on key regional and international issues and developments, and efforts to enhance security, stability and peace in the region.
It stressed the importance of continued co-ordination to strengthen regional security and stability and protect the security of waterways and trade routes.
Mr Lavrov expressed appreciation for the King’s continued efforts and commitment to supporting and strengthening relations.
