GCC Secretary General Jasem Al Budaiwi announced the unanimous support of the GCC member states for the UAE’s nomination of Minister of State Lana Zaki Nusseibeh for the position of Secretary General of the United Nations (UN).
He said that backing this nomination reflects the GCC states’ commitment to supporting multilateral international action, as well as their keenness to contribute to cementing the role of the UN in maintaining international peace and security, in accordance with the purposes and principles of its Charter.
