The sixth Asian Indoor and Martial Arts Games (AIMAG), originally scheduled to be held in December in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, have been moved to next year, the Olympic Council of Asia (OCA) announced yesterday.
Organisers have confirmed that the continental competition will now take place from March 28 to April 8 in 2027, following a review of organisation and logistical arrangements in coordination with all National Olympic Committees (NOC), stakeholders, and partners for the OCA-sanctioned event.
The new dates for the games ensure the alignment of schedules and operational arrangements and ensure the broadest possible participation from all qualifying NOCs and members from the OCA.
The event is expected to host over 4,500 athletes from more than 45 NOCs, including Bahrain, on the confirmed dates of competition.
The sixth AIMAG will be the first multi-sport OCA event held in Saudi.
