A regional framework based on shared interests and responsibilities which is open to every neighbour that respects sovereignty and freedom of navigation while rejecting threats of force is necessary to move forward from the current geopolitical conflict, according to Bahrain’s Foreign Minister Dr Abdulatif Al Zayani.
Speaking during the concluding plenary session of the International Institute of Strategic Studies Manama Dialogue, Dr Al Zayani noted that the door to join such a framework ‘remains open to Iran’ as long as it respects state sovereignty, doesn’t interfere in other states, protects freedom of navigation and rejects the use of force .
