Manama: Djs from across Bahrain will come together for an eight-hour festival in Adliya.
The DJ Festival 2015 will be held on September 3 at the Royal Hall and will host 16 DJs, who will each showcase unique performances in 30-minute sets.
The line-up will include VJMP3, Swif, DJ Sonia, DJ Salime, Tazlee, Ali Bakhtiar, DJ Mysterioo, DJ Fredz, Jackstreet, DJ Riddler, DJ Westside, DJ KatrinLove, Derek J, DJ Black, DJ Danzel and Detour.
All the performances will be accompanied by MC Ceasar, who hails from the same island in Barbados as superstar Rihanna.
MC Ceasar stays true to his roots and plays mainly Reggae and Hip Hop, but for this event he will be showing off his hosting skills.
“As the host, you can expect me to give the crowd the best selection of an all-star line-up of DJs and a night you will not forget,” he told the GDN.
“I honestly believe this will be the event of the year – 16 DJs, eight hours, one night, it’s going to be crazy.
“I look forward to having fun with all the beautiful people who are coming out to party and listen to good music with us.”
Born and raised in Pakistan, DJ Danzel has been on the Bahrain nightlife scene for quite some time and can now be found playing his deep house tech and indie disco at Bizarre Lounge in The Westin Bahrain City Centre Hotel.
“DJing has never been a job, to me, it is a passion and it is a love,” he told the GDN.
“Getting paid is just a bonus; I would never want to skip an amazing treat such as being part of a DJ Festival.
“I never miss a chance to fall in love with music all over again and it will be a privilege to drench myself in a variety of genres.”
DJ Ali Bakhtiar performed his first professional set two years ago, but has been in the music industry as a songwriter and musician for 15 years.
“I play music in the 110 to 150 BPM range, most frequently deep or tech house but generally a broad range of genres,” he told the GDN.
“As a fan of dance music, this will be an event not to be missed and as a DJ I’m looking forward to seeing all my people do their thing.”
Born in Bahrain, DJ Riddler began mixing music at 18 and has gone on to forge a successful career that has seen him play opening sets for international names such as Fatman Scoop, Coolio, Diana King and many more.
“I play mainly Hip Hop, RnB and top 40 charts – I chose that style because I’m more into Hip Hop,” he said.
“I am so excited to show and learn from other DJs [at the festival].”
In 2006 DJ Tazlee got his first DJ equipment and entered a few competitions before joining the Red Bull Music Academy.
“I got involved in GCC competitions such as the Pioneer DJ competition and the Red Bull Music Academy where I warmed up for a couple of DJs,” he said.
“I play trance and electro house and I am influenced by DJs who started developing trance music such as Paul Van Dyk, ATB and Armin Van Buuren.”
The festival will start at 7pm and tickets are priced at BD10.
