Manchester United have been accused of wasting more money than any other team in the Premier League.
A transfer review by the Prime Time Sport consultancy released at the Soccerex global convention in Manchester revealed that £474.81m worth of players signed by clubs over the last three seasons were used in 50 per cent or less of the total minutes of their club's season.
The Red Devils led the pack with an astounding figure of £117.61m
The biggest reason behind United’s failure to make use of their money spent will be the performances by Angel Di Maria. Manager Louis van Gaal spent a whopping record £59.7m on the Real Madrid player only to see him struggling throughout his stint at Old Trafford.
Following United closely was Tottenham Hotspur who splurged £100.81m. Manchester United’s noisy neighbours, Manchester City, took the third spot burning £53.33m on players who didn’t deliver.
