Manama: Bahrain launched its national pavilion at GITEX 2015 which kicked off yesterday at Dubai World Trade Centre and continues until October 22.
Bahrain’s pavilion includes 24 Bahraini companies specialised in information and communication technology (ICT) along with the Economic Development Board (EDB), eGovernment Authority and Labour Fund (Tamkeen).
Organisers of the pavilion for the ninth consecutive year are the Bahrain Technology Companies Society (BTECH) and leading event-management company Work Smart.
BTECH president Obaidly Al Obaidly said Bahrain this year has enhanced its qualitative presence in this global technical event taking advantage of its successful record over the past nine years.
“We were able to build a great reputation for the ICT sector in Bahrain through holding up to many success factors, like continuity and professionalism and fruitful co-operation with our partners in the government sector including the EDB and the eGovernment Authority and our counterparts in the private sector who are leading ICT companies on the level of Bahrain and in the region,” Mr Al Obaidly said. He thanked Tamkeen for its continuous support for the private sector’s participation in the pavilion which, he assured, greatly contributes to the development of the sector, diversify sources of income and raise contribution to the national economy.
Work Smart chairman Ahmed Al Hujairi Ahmed said that the national pavilion strengthened its presence this year among more than 3,600 governmental entities, companies and trade marks from 62 countries.
“We look forward to having a large share of the visitors estimated to reach 130,000 from more than 150 countries, 20,000 of which are senior executives, especially that this year we have strengthened the effectiveness of our marketing campaign.
“There is constant contact with a lot of permanent visitors from delegations and individuals in order to attract them to the pavilion and explore horizons of fruitful co-operation with them.”
He assured that the pavilion’s organisers are keen to keep up with the expansion witnessed in GITEX annually.
“We undoubtedly will benefit from our participation in the event by strengthening our success factors and develop them for GITEX next year,” he said.
